FORMIDABLE MAT-MEN
Bob Kruse to Wrestle With
Pete Mehringer
Keen interest has been aroused by the wrestling bout which is to be staged in the Town Hall to-night, between Bob Kruse, of Portland, and Pete Mehringer (Kansas). It will be the. first appearance in Wellington of Kruse, who, services have been sought by the New Zealand Wrestling Union for some years, and it will also mark the return of Mehringer, who has been in Australia during ’the past few weeks, but has been recalled to meet the strong demand for his services in this country. Both men scored wins last week, and will take, the ring to-night in fine fettle and anx'ous to create a good impression. Kruse’s _ porformance will be very closely watched, because so much has been heard of him, but his record is so outstanding that, there can be no doubt as to the quality of his performance. The fact that he has beaten Dan Koloff, the formidable Bulgarian, who visited New Zealand two years ago, would be sufficient commendiiHon without his draw with Ed Don George and other notable achievements. The fact that lie has some special holds to display will make him an additional attraction. Mobringer is the right man to extend Kruse to the utmost, and the indications are for a 'thrilling match. There will be amateur preliminaries.
