Palmerston Pigs and Poultry Palmerston North, June 13. There was a further increase in the demand for all sorts at the Dominion Auctioneering Company’s weekly sale this morning, when a fair yarding of pigs was offered to a good attendance of buyers. Weaners maintained a steady demand, and there was a fair inquiry for slips and stores. Taken all round, prices showed quite a fair rise on those realised last week. The inquiry for pouutry was also very good, all lines being cleared at prices which were practically on a par with those obtained at last week’s sale. Pigs: Weaners, 9/- to 13/-; slips, to 16/-; stores, to 23/-; porkers, 25/-; sows to farrow, 70/- to 75/-; sows and litter, 85/-. Poultry: White hens, 3/6 to 5/-; black hens, 4/- to 6/-; cockerels, 4/6 to 8/-; ducks, 2/8 to 5/-; pullets, 5/- to 9/- (all prices per pair). Jackson and Co., Ltd., offered 600 sheep and 200 head of cattle. lhe latter comprised some well-bred lines of Polled Angus young cattle, and these all met with good competition at prices well up to the autumn sales. The line ot oO weaner P.A. heifers on account of Morikail Station were only their late ana small calves, and realised the very satisfactory price of £3/5/-, while their steers calves of the same quality fetched £4.
