Forthcoming Thespian

Production

Theatregoers who remember the highly successful Thespian production of “The Ssort of Kings” and Eric Bradwell’s “Clay” two months ago, will be looking forward with considerable interest to the next production of this society, “Laburnum Grove,” the famous comedy by J. B. Priestley, to be presented in the Town Hall Concert Chamber for three nights only, starting ou, Thursday next. The society’s lust production was most successful, aud congratulations were received from many members of audiences at the end of the season; it is confidently expected, however, that ‘‘Laburnum Grove” will be even better. The cast, oue of the most experienced to appear in an amateur production in Wellington, includes O. N. Gillespie, probably the finest amateur actor in New Zealand, who "is appearing on the stage in Wellington for the first time iu two years; Vera Horton, another well-known amateur performer; Dorothy Tansley, who has been seen ou the stage here iu many other successes; A. D. Priestley, It. J. Larkin, Betty Wilson, Max Willis, Evan Harrowell and L. M. Sehneidemann. The play is being produced by Victor S. Lloyd, the director of the Thespians, who has been responsible for all the Thespian productions to date, assisted by Winnie Cooley; the stage manager is H. A. Painter, and the property mistresses Isabel Burton aud Peggy Lucas.

The box plan opens to the public at Begg’s this morning, and early booking is advised.
