Hatless and wearing plus fours the Duke of Gloucester and a party of officers, ■ all in mufti, participated in all-clay manoeuvres in tlie form of n mock battle in tho Merionethshire mountains. The Duke lunched on a packet of sandwiches from his pocket and quenched his thirst at a mountain stream.
