The mine of retail trade in Ap'i. was 5 per cent greatei ’han a year ago. For the quarter from FebruaryApril the value was 6.7 per cent, greater than in the corresponding period of last .rear. The value of stocks at the end >1 April was 1.3 per cent, higher than a year earlier, and employment was 1-4 per cent greater,
