GOING TO GENEVA
Mr. W. J. Jordan’s Mission DEPARTURE IN JULY Confirmation of a report in ‘’The Dominion” yesterday that Mr. YY T . J. Jordan, M.P. for Manukau, who is to be the next High Commissioner in London, would probably be leaving soon for Geneva to represent New Zealand on the Council of the League of Nations, was given by the Prime Minister. Hon. M. J. Savage, in an interview yesterday. It is expected that Mr. Jordan will leave the Dominion in July, and that a by-election for the Manukau seat will be held in August. The Prime Minister said it was likely that when Mr. Jordan went to Geneva he would be accompanied by an expert staff. “The League meeting will be a momentous one,” Mr. Savage added, “and it is desirable that New Zealand should be fittingly represented. It is a glorious opportunity to place New Zealand on the map.”
