FANCY DRESS PARTY
St. Jude’s Ladies’ Guild A very successful children’s plain and fancy dress party, organised by the St. Jude’s Ladies’ Guild, Lyall Bay, was held in St. Jude’s Hall recently. Messrs. Ritchie and Avery were untiring in their efforts to entertain and amuse the children, and dancing items were much enjoyed. Prizes were given for the best fancy costumes, and the judges, Mrs. Hare and Mr. Avery, had great difficulty in deciding tbe winners among so many beautiful costumes. The vicar, the Rev. F. A. Tooley, thanked all those who helped to make the afternoon such a successful one.
In connection with the meeting concerning the Plunket ball ballets, to be held on Monday at 5 o’clock at the Hotel St. George, the conveners, Mrs. Philip Cooke and Mrs. Douglas Whyte, wish it to be known that girls who would like to be in the ballets and have not yet handed in their names should telephone either Mrs. Cooke or Mrs. Whyte, before this (Friday) evening, as after that time the list will be closed.
