ANNUAL MEETING
Island Bay Bible Society The annual meeting of the Island Bay branch of the British and Foreign Bible Society was held recently at the home of the president, Mrs. McHutcheon. Mrs. A. A. Brown, secretary, gave an account of the work, which was most gratifying, the return being considerably higher than the previous year. A hearty vote of thanks was accorded the secretary and she was congratulated upon tbe completion of ten years’ service in that capacity. A bouquet of pink carnations was presented to her in recognition of her invaluable help. The following officers were elected: President, Mrs. McHutcheon; vicepresidents, Mrs. Ireland and Miss McGowan; secretary, Mrs. Whittle; treasurer, Mrs. A. A. Brown; collectors, Mesdames McHutcheon, Ireland, Whittle, Brown, Sindall, Wood, Brook, Ewen, Wilson, Pennington, Connor, Whyte, Tanner, Eyres, Andrew, Glenson, Peterson, and the Misses Brooks, Hendrickson and Clapson. The president thanked all the members for their excellent and willing work, mentioning especially Mrs. Uindmarsh, who will leave shortly for a trip abroad. Opportunity was taken to wish her bon voyage and a happy reunion with relatives and friends in England. A sacred solo given by Mrs. White was much appreciated. The president, assisted by Miss f Moira Brown, served afternoon tea and was thanked for her hospitality.
