“THE SHINING HOUR”

Season Concludes This Evening This evening will see the conclusion of the J. C. Williamson company’s season at the Wellington Opera House, when the final performance of Keith Winter's "The Shining Hour" will be presented. The play treats with the striinge clash of ideals wrought in the lives’ of n quiet farming family by the introduction of a young ami beautiful woman, and argues without fatuity that when two people encounter their “shining hour" nothing on earth should be allowed to part them. It is for this principle that Judy Linden, admirably portrayed by Miss Phyllis Baker, plunges bravely to her death when she sees the mutual attraction between her husband. David (Mr. Campbell Copelin) and Mariella (Miss Elaine Hamill), her brother-in-law’s glamorous young bride. .Miss Ethel Morrison gives another splendid performance as Hannah Linden the bittertongued woman who treasures the. happiness of the family above all, while Mr. Lloyd Lamblyn makes a convincing Mickey Linden, lhe callow youth of the family, who also falls beneath Mariellas fatal spell.
