MEN OF KENT

Association Membership Grows During the year 10 new members joined the association, and it is hoped that during the forthcoming year the increase will be greater, state’s the annual report of the association of the Men of Kent and Kentish Men, Wellington. A balance of £l2/18/2 is brought forward. Five enjoyable evenings were hold during the year, and the committee had done splendid' work in arranging the programmes. The thanks of the association are extended to the women for their assistance. Many inquiries were received from the Kentish executive of the association concerning settlers front the county in New Zealand, ami these were dealt with by the secretary. Several parcels were sent out, and appreciation of the courtesy and help given to the association by Salvation Army officers and Government departments, in tracing the members of the county, is recorded in the report. The president presented three fine Kentish books to the library. Many notable visitors passed through Wellington. ami were met and entertained by members of the association. The report concludes by stating that in conferring the title of the Duke of Kent on his Royal Highness Prince George, his late Majesty King George V once again brought the county under Royal Patronage. The members of the association wished his Royal Highness long life and happiness. The annual meeting will be held tomorrow night.
