Mr. Robert Forbes The death has occurred at Brightwater, Nelson, of .Mr. Robert J.’orbos, secretary of the Waimea Cooperative Dairy Company. He saw service 1U the Seaforth Highlanders in the Great War, says a Press Association message, and spent live years in West Africa before coming to New Zealand. Mr. Forbes was on the stall of Lever Bros., and then with the Dairy Control Board, lai er becoming secretary of the Hok'anga Dairy Company. lie took up his duties in the Nelson district in 1930. Mr. John E. Donnelly Advice has been received at Dunedin from Sydney of the death there of Mr. John Edmond Donnelly in his fortythird year. He was, says a Press Association message, lately employed by the National Insurance Company of New Zealand at Dunedin. Mr. C. H. 11. Clark The death occurred on Tuesday of Mr. C. 11. H. Clark, of “Rajputana,” Maitai, Nelson, a very well-known and respected resident of Nelson for many years, says a Press Association message. Born in India and educated in Great Britain, he came to New Zealand in the ship Northumberland and joined the Union Bank at Palmerston North in 1886. After service at Timaru and Nelson, he retired some 30 years ago. He was a keen sportsman and rarely missed a Saturday afternoon following the football. He was also a prominent tennis player and maintained his interest to the last. Fishing and shooting lie regularly followed. Wallace and Co-, Ltd., merchants, of Wellington, died on Wednesday after a brief illness iu his tiftj ft sixth year. Lyon a former secretary of the Wellington Racing Club and a nephew of the late Mr. W. D. Lyon. Mr. Lyon was known in business circles but took no part, in public affairs. Mrs. Mary Masters Garwith The death occurred suddenly al “Glenmore,” Upper Plain, Masterton, on Wednesday of Mrs. Mary Musters Garwith, widow of Mr. F. C. Garwith. Mrs Garwith, who was in her 83rd year, was a link with the days of early settlement in the Wairarapa. A ( la u g tter of the late Mr. and Mrs. b. Skect and IL G. Moser, both ’f Masterton, and Trevor Thomson, Auckland. One of her brothers is Sir William Perry, of “Penrose,” Masterton. Mr. G. I. B. Sheridan Advice of the sudden death on Wednesday in Melbourne of Mr.. G. I. B Sheridan, resident inspector in charge of the Victorian division of the Bank of New South Wales, has beeu received in Wellington. The late Mr. Sheridan was assistant inspector of the Ban» of New South Wales in New Zealand from 1921 until June. 1927. when he was promoted to the management ot the Adelaide ami the South Australian division. Mr. Sheridan took over his last position last year. He is survived by bis widow. Mr. and Mrs Sheridan had a large circle of friends in Wellington.
