Hope Gibbons Shield Race To-morrow Of three roiid cycling races for the Hope-Gibbons Shield the first is to be held by the Wellington Cycling Centre to-morrow afternoon over the Port Nicholson course at Island Bny. a distance of 25 miles, starting from Derwent Street at 2.30 p.m. Six teams, comprising representatives of the Petone. Port Nicholson and I’oneke clubs, will compete. Team captains will draw for starting positions, teams being dispatched at fiveminute intervals. Only riders registered with the New Zealand Amateur Cycling Association may compete, mid will wear their registered numbers and club colours. Competitors receiving outside assistance will render their team liable to-disquali-fication. .The following are the teams mitered: — I’oneke Club.—A team: L. Walsh. R Dutton, R. Barber, B. Walsh, R. Loader. B team: 11. Evans, J. Treweek, K. McLeod. 11. Illixford, 0. Roberts. Emergencies: D. Evans and J. Boulton. Port 'Nicholson Chib.—A loam: F Franklyn. L. Sowcrby, K. Wilson, J. Wilson. G. Amoy. B team: T. F. McLeod, W. Smithers, C- McGurk. P. 11. Johnson, L. Cartmer. Emergencies: W. Keighley and C. Hopkins. Petone Club.—A team: T. Roe, C. Biggs, 11. Biggs. R. Triplow. L. Anderson. B team : R. Stevens. A. Cook, R. Staples. H. J. Kent. R. Taylor. Emergencies: I:. Barlow. V. Hansen. E. Kershaw, R, Hardleigh.
