Will Oppose Chancellor Of Austria “ARM TO TEETH” PLAN By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. (Received May 27, 735 p.m.) Vienna, May 27. Prince Starhemberg and the Heimwehr have gone into opposition against Dr. Schuschnigg the Chancellor. A communique issued after a two hour meeting of tlie Heimwehr states that "Heimwehr leaders are firmly determined to tight in the future, as in the past, for the aims of the Heimwehr.” Prince Starhemberg presided at the Heimwehr meeting, which was attended by all Heimwehr provincial leaders, who swore allegiance to Prince Starhemberg. whose new programme, it is stated, consists of only one point—- " Arm the Heimwehr to the teeth”— despite Dr. Schuschnigg’s intention to disarm it.
The Vice-Chancellor, Major Baaren fels becomes, with Herr Weninger, nt present leader of the Upper Austrian Heimwehr, deputy chief of the Heimwehr general staff Count von Sturgkb takes over the Styrian command from Baron Weldenegg, who goes to Rome as Austrian Minister.
Major Baarenfels and the other Heimwehr members of the Cabinet do not propose to resign from the Government, but it remains to be seen whether Dr. Schuschnigg will keep them. The Heimwehr headquarters have been moved from Vienna to Linz.
On May 14, the Chancellor, Dr. Schuschnigg, made himself virtual dictator bj' reconstructing Cabinet and dropping Prince Starhemberg, Vice-Chancel-lor and leader of the Heimwehr, from the Government. Starhemberg was replaced as Vice-Chancellor by Major Baarenfels. The Chancellor, announced that he would disarm the Heimwher and made a start in doing so.
