Further Discussion of Conditions in Shops and Offices LEAGUE OF NATIONS SANCTIONS Introduction of State Advances Corporation Bill Although there was little formal business before the House of Representatives yesterday afternoon some time was spent on a private Bill empowering a Whakatane company to erect mills for the manufacture of paper from district timber, lhe measutc had been discussed previously, but members on both sides of the House expressed emphatic opinions that the Bill should be referred to a committee for further consideration, it having been made clear that Parliament should know something of the resources of the company and the ramifications of its purpose. Opportunity was taken to put through all stages die League of Nations Sanctions Regulations Confirmation Bill. 'I here was little discussion, and the leaders of both parties agreed that the Bill ought to be passed without further delay, it being essential to have it on the Statute Book before June 2. The second reading of the Shops and Offices Aniendmvnt Bill was completed and the House devoted the greater portion of the sitting to consideration of the measure in the committee stage. Shortly before the House rose at 11.10 p.m. the State Advances Corporation Bill, making provision for the reconstitution of the Mortgage Corporation of New Zealand, was' mtrduced.
