River Board and Amalgamation “I am in favour of amalgamation, of as many bodies as can be got together.’ said Mr. F. J. Jones when discussing the invitation to attend the amalgamation conference at yesterday's meeting of the Hutt River Board. He did not know whether the board was entitled to decide the question. The chairman, Mr. J. Mitchell: Our assets are over £30,000. There would have to be conditions. The board represents the same people as the amalgamated boroughs, Mr. Jones continued. He took it that the ratepayers would have a say in any question of amalgamation. On the motion of Mr.' J. Brassall, Messrs. J. Mitchell, M, J. Hodgins and F. J. Jones were appointed as the board's delegates.
