RESULTS OF CHARLIE CHAPLIN CONTEST

Over New Zealand Krom all parts of the North Island, and even from as far south as Dunedin, entries poured in for the Charlie Chaplin contest, conducted by "The Dominion” jn connection with the United Artists film “Modern Times” at the Regent Theatre. The popularity of the contest with people of all ages was equalled by the ingenuity of many competitors. They had to select from au assortment, of articles, the hat, moustache, pants, bools and cane typical of Charlie Chaplin, and then put them together to form a “skeleton” picture of the great comedian, originality and neatness in presentation being taken into account by the judges. Tlie choice of the correct moustache was the biggest hurdle, many people giving Chaplin* too big a one. After that came the boots and the but. in order of difficulty.

Judging has now been finished, and the following results are announced: — First prize (£3/3/-): Mrs. A. 0. Glenn, 76 Pitt Street, Wadestown. Wellington.

Second prize (£l/1/-) : Mr. D. Tales, 316 Oriental Parade, Oriental Bay.
