TWO MEN ARRESTED
Breaking and Entering Charge Wanganui. May 18. Following an audacious burglary at Castlecliff on the night of May 12, investigations by Detective J. Murray and Constable Trask led to the arrest during the week-end of two labourers, AA’illiam Alfred Christensen and Samuel Ernest Ross, who appeared before Mr. J. IL Salmon, S.M., in the AVnnganiii Magistrate's Court this morning. They were charged with breaking’ and entering the. dwelling-house of AVilliam AVatters, of Castlecliff, and stealing a woman's purse containing about £lO, the property of Miss M. O. Lewis. The arrests took place at a house at Cnstlecliff in which the two accused resided. They wore remanded until May 21. Ross was released from custody on bail of self £l5O and two sureties each of £25.
