In an international match on the eve of the French championships France is leading England seven games to three. Boussus beat Perry, 6-4, 6 8, 6-2. Destremeau beat Austin. 8-6, 6-2. Borotra and Bernard beat Wilde and Hare, 6-3, 8-6. Hughes and Tuckey beat Legeay and Feret, 6-2, 6-2. Perry, in the third set, repeatedly netted his backhand and was unable to deal with the severely cut returns of Boussus. Destremeau fairly outplayed Austin, acutely angling speedy returns. DAVIS CUP SERIES Results of Four Contests v (Received May 17, 7.30 p.m.) London. May 16. Results of the Davis Cup matches are:— In the second round at Dublin Ireland defeated Sweden by four matches to one. At Dusseldorf Germany eliminated Hungary by winning tbe first three matches. At Montreaux Switzerland eliminated Denmark, winning the first three matches. In a match at Oslo Belgium defeated Norway by three matches to two. A match between Yugoslavia and Czechoslovakia is in progress at Zagreb, where Puncec (Yugoslavia) defeat Siba (Czechoslovakia). 6-1. 6-2, 2-6, 6-0; Hecht (Czechoslovakia) defeated Pallada (Yugoslavia). 8-6. 6-1. 2-6, 6-0. PLANS FOR PRACTICE Australians and Americans (Received May 17, 6.30 p.m.) Germantown (Pennsylvania), May 16An arrangement was announced todav whereby the Australian and American tennis teams will use courts on which the Davis Cup match will be played at tbe end of the month on alternate days, starting on May 25. to accustom them to the lawns. C. Sproule, manager of the Australian team, was assured that there would be no spying by American scouts. The Australians continued practice today.
