Gisborne Sale Dominion Special Service. Gisborne, May 16. Following closely on the two days’ cattle fair and wet weather intervening, all classes at the weekly sale had moderate entries. There was a small attendance. Nevertheless fat sheep prices firmed. Store sheep showed an advancing tendency, with hoggets definitely dearer. Fat ewes, average quality, IS/- to 18/6; fat lambs, fairly good, to 17/S. Stores: Breeding ewes, four, six aud eight-tooth, 2G/-; sound mouth, 24/5; five-year, 22/6; medium mouths, otherwise good, 23/- to 23/10 ; hoggets, ewes, 19/- to 22/2; top lines, wethers, 17/1 to 17/6; grown wethers, 'good frame and condition, 22/10 to 23/3. The pig market was easy. Raetihi Sale At the Raetihi sale last Thursday Freeman R. Jackson and Co., Ltd., had a yarding of 1200 sheep. The demand for sound wethers and lambs was keen, particularly for the latter. The demand still seems unsatisfied. Cattle sold well considering the lateness of the year. According to the Dominion Auctioneer, ing Company's report, there was a poor demand for the fair yarding of pigs offered at their weekly sale this morning, but a few lines of weaners sold at good prices. Several good quality porkers also realised up to vendors’ expectations, but generally the demand was not. as good as during the past few weeks. An extra large yarding of poultry was offered, every line being in keen demand, with consequent prices considerably in excess of last week’s realisations.
