Two Qualifying Rounds DERBYSHIRE WOMAN HEADS LIST By Telegraph—Press Assu.—Copyright. (Received May 17, 7.30 p.m.) Lundou, May 16. Miss Bridgett Newell, Derbyshire, with a women’s record of 74 to-day and an aggregate of 152 headed the field after the second qualifying round for the women's golf championship. Miss Wanda Morgan, the holder (76 and 78), Mrs. Walker, last year’s Australian champion (77 and 77) and Miss Jessie Anderson, holder of the NewZealand championship (77 aud 77), all had aggregates of 154. The nearest scores among the other leaders include Mrs. Goldthwaite (U.S.A.) (75 and 81), Miss Diana Fishwick (7G and 81). and Mrs. Vare (U.S.A.), formerly Miss Glenn,t Collett (77 and 80). Players needed 174 or better to qualify. All the Americans qualified. Miss Nankivell suffered bitterly from tbe cold wind and returned a 93 for an aggregate of 180. She says she has never played worse. She pulled or sliced her drives, found bunkers and missed several short putts. Mrs. Goldthwaite, with a score of 75, equalling scratch for the Southport course, headed the first qualifying round. Miss Diana Fishwick and Miss Corlet, finalist in the English championship, bad scores of 76. Mrs. Walker and Mrs. Vare, American champion, scored 77, and Miss Wanda Morgan 78. Six other Americans were within seven strokes of the leader. Mrs. Waddell, tbe New Zealander, had a card of 99. She visited almost every bunker and her putts rimmed the holes.

In the second round Mrs. Waddell did not return her card, approximately an 88. She had ordered a new set of clubs which were too light when they arrived. Accordingly she played with her husband’s, which were too heavy and too long.

The 64 players who qualified will commence the match play on Monday.
