The Poneke Cycling Chib will open its 1936 road season this afternoon with an 11-miles race for the 0. Hughes Cup. The race will start from the Miramar Wharf at 2.30, and the course followed will be from the Miramar Wharf down the straight, past the power-house and turning into Salek Street, and then Coutts Street, down Kingsford Smith Street, to the left, passing Moa Point, Breaker Bay cutting, Seatoun, Worser Bay, and continuing around the bay past the Massey memorial and finishing on the Miramar Wharf straight. Club will open its road season at Island Bay this afternoon with a 21-milcs race, starting from Derwent Street. The race will be over two circuits of the Happy Valley-Island Bay-Lyall Bay course, finishing at Derwent Street.
