tVhat he called the erroneous idea that Canadians are not particularly loyal to the Crown was strongly contradicted by Dr. David Lang, of Canada, when speaking to the Auck- X land Presbytery. lie had heard it suggested, he said, that Canadians were somewhat half-hearted in their allegiance and were thinking of annexation by the United States. To use a slang expression, that was just “bunk.” “There are no more loyal people in all the British Empire than the Canadians,” said Dr. Lang. He added that there had been a movement toward the United States some 30 or 40 years ago, but that was 'as dead as the dodo.
