Teachers Who Object To Military Training A motion ‘(That there shall be no discrimination against teachers who are unwilling for conscientious reasons to participate in military training in schools.” was carried at the closing session of the New Zealand Secondary Schools’ Association conference held in Wellington. A letter was received from the secretary of the New Zealand Council for Educational Research referring to a proposal that there should be arranged a New Zealand session of the conference of the new educational fellowship to be held in Australia next year. The conference heartily supported the proposal and a committee was set up to .co into ways and means of arranging such a session. The following officers were elected: President, Mr. W. A. Armour (Wellington) ; vice-president, Mr. H. A. Heron (Wellington) ; committee. Miss Batham. Miss K. Edgerling (Auckland). Messrs Hutton (Gisborne), ML T Foster (Napier), J. N. Millard (Hutt), A. ML Short (Takapuna), A. H. Thom (Wellington) and Dr. Smith (Palmerston North) ; secretary, Mr. P. Martin Smith.
