Motueka Aerodrome Dispute Settled By Telegraph.—Press Association. Nelson, May 15. As the result of a second conference 10-day between represenfiitives of the men working on Motueka aerodrome and the district. Public Works engineer, Mr. T. Johnson, a settlement w,as reached for resmnpHon. of work on Monday morning. The men. numbering 170. went: on strike on Wtalites day as a protest; against the long distances men were required to wheel spoil in wheelbarrows. Mr. R. Eddy. South Island organiser of the New Zealand Workers’ Union, arrived at Motueka from Christchurch yesterday and took part in Hie negotiations. Tlie agreement reached was that in future three chains will bo the limit for a barrow wheel. Handcarts will be used for distances from five to 10 chains, and motor-trucks for carrying spoil distances greater than 10 chains.
