VERDICT OF SUICIDE
Grafton Bridge Tragedy By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, May 15. A verdict, of suicide while mentally depressed was returned by Mr. Wyvern Wilson, SAL, at an inquest concerning Hie death of Maurice Hughes, a single man, aged 36, who fell front Grafton Bridge on Tuesday afternoon. Evidence was given by, two men who were crossing Hie bridge that they saw Hughes look over Hie side of the bridge and climb on to tlie parapet. Hughes then lay on the parapet and rolled over into the gully below. Before climbing ou to the parapet he said, “Good-bye,” and threw some letters on the pavement. These were picked tip and handed to the police.
