'Wellington. presented him with a silver tea service, tlie tray of which was inscribed "To G. M. Spence from the constituent clubs of the New Zealand Aero Club in recognition of valued services as president. 1932-1935." In making Hie presentation, Mr. Weinstein paid tribute to Hie work that Mr. Spence had accomplished and said that he had had an especially hard task to do. particularly during the years of the establishment of the club. He had given unsparingly of his lime and energy. "The club was very fortunate to have a president of such calibre and one who spent that amount of time in its interests,” he said.

Mr. Spence thanked the club for the gift which, lie said, he and liis wife would value greatly. Practically everything (hat had been done in New Zealand aviation had emanated from the conferences of the New Zealand Aero Club, notably the landing ground and aerodrome scheme now being carried out by the Government, Thus New Zealand was beginning to benefit from the unselfish work done by Hie .aero clubs of tho Dominion.
