Track in Heavy Condition By Telegraph—Press Association. Invercargill, May 14. Heavy mist delayed training operations at Invercargill this morning, but overhead conditions were perfect later. The going was heavy and there is little chance of its improving by Saturday, though the weather appears settled. The poles were out 35ft. on the course proper, where all the work was done. Double Shot was going better than Mayam at the end of seven furlongs in 1.40, the last half-mile in 59 1-5. Galleon had a good pull in the weights when he beat Amelita over seven furlongs iu 1.41 2-5, the last half-mile in 37 2-5. Neither horse was extended and both look well. Silk Arrow beat Red Boa comfortably over six furlongs in 1.24 4-5 —the last half-mile in 56 2-5. Silk Arrow revelled in the going and could have improved considerably on his time. • Wynwood and Paia Melba took 1.25 3-5 to run six furlongs. Wynwood was slipping about in the going, but Paia Melba appeared to handle the track all right, and could have done better. Honest Maid and Groat Shot jumped away from the mile and were picked up by Moneyless at the seven furlongs. Honest Maid had her head in front at the finish in 1.57, the last seven furlongs being. left behind in 1.42 1-5. Moneyless carried about 9.0. He was wide out all the way, and was going well at the finish. Golden* Song beat Patriot easing up over six furlongs in 1.26 1-5, the last halfmile in 59 3-5. Golden Song acted well in the going. Royal Dart beat Silver Issue and Young Sentinel over seven furlongs in 1.44, and did it easily. Coat of Arms wag responsible for a good solo effort when he ran six furlongs in 1.24 4-5, the last halfmile in 57 2-5. This horse is very well. Signaller and Parasang were given a couple of rounds of strong pace work. Both bear a well-trained appearance. Enwood and Pompax also did useful tasks. Sailing Home was schooled over four flights of hurdles and gave a satisfactory display. The first of the visiting horses are expected to arrive to-morrow.
