Auckland City Council workmen are now engaged upon the last section of a work which has been in progress for the past three years, namely, the improvement of stormwater drainage in the central city area. When complete the scheme will have cost over £50,000, but it. will remove—in fact, it has already removed —the flooding that afflicted tbe business district around the lower part of Queen Street In an increasing degree until about a year ago.
