BETTER SPEAKING ON THE AIR
Action in Australia (Received May 3. 6.30 p.m.) Brisbane. May 3. The Australian Broadcasting Commission is taking action against poor speakers who spoil many good radio talks. It will begin with the correction of speakers’ faults and rehearsal’ of talks. In bad cases recordings will be made and “offenders” will be compelled to listen to their own voices. “We hope speakers will lie their own severest critics." reniarked Mr. W. J. Cleary, chairman of the commission.
