THE SOCIAL ROUND

33 Club Dance at Mayfair Cabaret Such is the popularity of the dances arranged by the 33 Club, that even the most evil weather does, not seem to deter people from attending. This was particularly evident on Saturday night, when every inch of seating capacity the Mayfair Cabaret was taken up by Mie large crowd that attended the club’s first dance of this season. The glow and warmth of the cabaret and the good cheer of all the dancers gave no evidence of the storm that raged without, and few gave a thought to what they would have to face when the dance was over. Dancing took place in both the rooms, around the walls of which, and-in the foyer of the main one, were arranged the gailycoloured cabaret tables. Particularly pleasing were the vases of warm-foned marigolds and poppies on the tables, two large brass bowls of orange and tawny marigolds and wallflowers near the entrance to the room attracting much attention. The only other decorations were tinselled “33’s" which hung on the walls and round the central dais, on which was housed the orchestra. A tempting buffet supper was served in the iceland poppy-decorated Italian room and in the recently-enlarged blue room, where the large parchment lampshades tone charmingly with the blue: walls.
