Williamson, Ltd., announce the presentation of a diversified series of plays specially chosen to reveal various sides of the modern English drama and to introduce to New Zealand theatregoers their specially-organised comedy company which is headed by Ethel Morrison and Elaine Hamill, and who have in” association with them such wellknown and distinguished artists as Harvey Adams, Campbell Copeliu, Katie Towers, Shepherd. Enid Bollings, Phyllis Baker, Arthur Lane, Patricia Pautin, and Lloyd Lamble. The New Zealand tour is to be inaugurated in the Grand Opera House, Wellington, on Saturday next, with the first production in Now Zealand of Ivor Novello's priceless comedy which ran for little less than two years at the Criterion Theatre. London. and repeated its success in New York. “Fresh Fields’’ is described as an audacious, deliriously funny comedy. The story centres round two impoverished daughters of a duke whe struggled to keen their establishment going by weekly journalism of the “Answers to Correspondents" variety, and by taking in paying guests. Some guests from Australia with more money than manners arrive, and cause a clash between aristocracy and democracy. “Fresh Fields” is certain to cause the widest discussion. The author, Ivor Novello. is considered by the theatrical world of London as one of their,most handsome men —certainly one of the cleverest ami most popular. His striking Latin features he has inherited from his Itn’ian mother, the famous singer.
