Government Intervention Sought McARTHUR TRUST An announcement that an urgent meeting of the debenture holders committee had decided to invoke the aid of Parliament In preserving the assets of the debenture holders was made to “The Dominion” by Mr. N. Levy, of Wellington, who took a prominent part in the general meeting of debenture holders of the Investment Executive Trust of New Zealand, Ltd. (in liquidation), in Wellington on Thursday and Friday. To. that end representations would be made to the Government. He said this decision had been made because of the feeling of many debenture holders against forced liquidation. The polls taken at the special meeting clearly showed that the motions had been defeated in numbers because many of the voters were not at the meeting and did not hear the arguments stated. The motions would have been carried in both number and value of shares had all voters hea.rd the discussion.
