ROCKHAMPTON TRAIN CRIME
■■■ Evidence of Detectives (Received April 30, 10.40 p.m.) Brisbane, April 30. Further evidence -was given to-day by detectives who arrested Herbert Kopit, otherwise Colbert, who is charged with the Rockhampton train murders. Their testimony supported Kopit’s signed statement concerning his alleged attacks on the victims. Detective Mahoney, Brisbane, said that while he was escorting Kopit through Sydney to Brisbane, Kopit suggested a car drive through Darlinghurst so that he could indicate the shops where he bought the women’s clothing and shoes In which he masqueraded at Sydney and Melbourne until arrested. Detective Mahoney assented and Kopit pointed out the different shops. The hearing was adjourned.
