MUSEUM DIRECTORS
Conference in Australia DOMINION DELEGATES
To attend a conference of museum and art gallery directors from Australia and New Zealand in Melbourne, four delegates from the Dominion sailed by the Makura from Wellington last night for Sydney. They were: Dr. W. R. B. Oliver, director of the Dominion Museum, Wellington; Mr. Gilbert Archey, director of the Auckland Institute and Museum; Mr. J. Barr, director of the Auckland Public Library, Art Gallery and Old Colonists’ Museum; Dr. R. S. Allan, acting-curator of the Christchurch Museum. Mr. H. D. Skinner, of the Otago Museum, who was also invited, is at present out of the Dominion. Tlie conference, which is to be held under the auspices of the Carnegie Corporation of New York, will open at Melbourne on M<Ty h and, owing to the delay in the sailing of the Makura the New Zealand delegates will be a day or so late in arriving. They will return by the Wanganella, leaving Sydney on May 16 for Auckland.
