Butter and Cheese Quiet Joseph Nathan and Company, Ltd., have received from their principals, Trengrouse and Nathan, Ltd., London, the following cabled advice, dated March 18• New Zealand butter, 81/-. New Zealand cheese: White, 49/- to 49/6; coloured, 51/- to 51/6. Both markets quiet. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Ltd., have,received the following advice from their London house, dated March 18:—Dairy produce (last week’s quotation in parentheses):— Rutter: N-Z., choicest salted, 80/- to 81/per cwt. (83/-); market slow. Cheese: White, 49/6 to 50/- per cwt. (50/-); coloured, 52/- per cwt. (52/- to 53/-; market quiet. Metters (N.Z.) Limited A net profit of £5352, an increase of £2488, is reported by Metters (N.Z.), Ltd-, porcelain manufacturers, Wellington, for the year ended December 31. The directors recommend payment of a dividend of 9d. a share. This is equal to 6 per cent, on the capital, which now stands at £64.937, in 12/6 fully-paid shares, to which figure it reduced from £96,950 in £1 shares last year. The report states that extensions to buildings and plant are to be made, and in this connection the _ works manager recently visited Australia. The company, which is a subsidiary of General Industries. Ltd.. Sydney, was formed in 1929. This is the first dividend paid in recent years.
