Body of Alpine Guide By Telegraph—Press Association. Hokitika, March 19. In their attempt to recover the body of Guide Thomas Christie, who lost liis life on the Fox Glacier last November, Guides F. Russell, Alack and J. Blackie, and Constable Best reached the Pioneer Ridge ou the Fox Glacier on Monday mornlug. They entered tlie schrund from the side and found that snow had filled the crevasse at least 50 feet deep. There was no sign of the body. The party considered it was impossible to make a further effort to recover the body owing to the difficult conditions and the danger resulting from any exacavation work being carried out.
