Motor-lorry Collides With Train DRIVER KILLED By Telegraph—-Press Association. Auckland, March 17. , Fatal injuries were, received by Joseph H. Anslow, a single man aged 24. when the truck he. was driving collided With the south-bound Wellington express at Ohinewai railway crossing shortly after 5 o’clock this afternoon. Anslow had been collecting goods from the railway goods-shed at Qhinevai, and followed a narrow track from the station, which runs parallel to the line to meet the main road. AV hen he turned to cross.the line the engine of tiie express struck the truck with- a heavy, impact, the driver apparently not noticing that the train was behind him. The dead man received severe head injuries, and death was instantaneous. The truck was wrecked. ■ Slight damage was caused to the engine and the train -was delayed for about 50 minutes. The signalling apparatus at the station was also affected. Anslow arrived in New Zealand seven years ago, and has no relative in the country. The body was taken to Iluntly, where an inquest will opened.
