TWO MEN KILLED
Third in Very Serious Condition LORRIES IN COLLISION Party of Relief Workers Involved Dominion Special Service. Hamilton. March IS. Two men were killed and another was very seriously injured when two motor trucks collided shortly before 0 o’clock this evening on the Karamu-Whatawhata Road, two miles south of the junction with the road to Raglan. The victims were: Killed. Mr. Harold Williams, aged 35. Dins dale Road, Frankton. —Killed instantly. Mr. William Jarvis, aged 62, Colombo Street, Frankton.—Died in hospital a few hours later as a result of internal injuries. Injured. Mr. William Aitman, aged 27, Whatawhata.—Severe internal injuries; condition very serious. A party of nine relief workers were returning to Hamilton in a lialf-tbu truck driven by Mi-. Leonard Ray Grogan, 34 Firth Street, Hamilton East, and when proceeding down an incline on a slight curve of the road became involved in a collision with a heavily-laden lorry coming in the opposite direction, driven by Mr. James Richard Gore, farmer, of Karamu. The woodwork on the right-hand side of Mr. Gore's vehicle and that of the left side of the truck was torn off. Three occupants of the lighter vehicle received serious injuries, but the driver and the other occupants were unhurt- • Mr. Gore was not injured. Both vehicles were driven away under their own power, and were uot extensively damaged. Mr. Williams died almost instantly He was a married man with three young children. Messrs. Jarvis and Aitman were taken to the Waikato Hospital by a St. John Ambulance, Mr. Jarvis dying a few hours after being admitted.
