Permits for buildings to the value of £3675 were issued by the Petoue Borough Council during January, the fees paid amounting to £l2.
,Authority £or the engineer to purchase additional sewage pumping plant was given by the Lower Hutt Borough Council last night.
The assertion that ragwort was growing in Jackson Street, Petone, was made by Cr. J. Huggan, at last night’s meeting of the Petone Borough Council. He said the Agriculture Department was pressing owners of land at Korokoro to eradicate the weed, yet it was growing in Petone streets. Etc desired to draw the inspector’s attention to it. Another councillor said the weed was growing iu Bouvcric Street.
