Miller—Hursthouse A wedding of interest to many friends was solemnised at the Calvin Presbyterian Church, Brooklyn, last Saturday morning, when Katrine, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richmond Hursthouse, 16 Aurora Terrace, was married to Alexander, son of the late Rev. Matthew Miller and Mrs. Miller. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Duncan Hercus, the Rev. Ormond Burton, and the Rev. Herbert Newell. The bride, who was escorted by her brother, Mr. William Hursthouse, wore a graceful gown of ivory-tinted georgette, with brussels point lace on the square-cut corsage. Her misty tulle veil was arranged with orange blossom and she carried a bouquet of beautiful golden lilies.

There were four bridesmaids, the Misses Mary Hursthouse (sister of the bride), Norah McLaren, Shirley Bannister (cousin of the bride) and Margaret Newell, who- wore charming frocks of turquoise blue taffeta and wreaths of flowers in their hair. Mr. Leo Hannah was the best man and Mr. Clement Atkinson groomsman. Miss Iris Hyatt was at the organ. After the ceremony a reception was held at the Masonic Hall, The Terrace, where decorations of gladioli made vivid splashes of colour. The bride’s mother was wearing a handsome frock of blaek georgette and lace, and her black hat had blue and parchment taffeta leaves encircling the crown. Mrs. Miller wore a dress of soft flowered black silk with a wide hat of fine blaek straw.

Curtayne—Svenson > St. Mary’s Church, Wanganui, was beautifully decorated yesterday afternoon for the wedding of Iris Ngaire, third daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Neil Peter . Svenson, and Arthur Brenard, third son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Curtayne, Devonport, Auckland. The bride, who was escorted by her father, wore a charming frock of magnolia satin cut on Empress Eugene lines, with scolloped petal effect at neck and waistline, and long scolloped train. The magnolia embroidered yell, lent by the bride’s sister, Mrs. Clarkson, Lower Hutt, was arranged cape fashion and caught with a spray of orange blossom. A trail sheaf of lilium" auratum with fern and magnolia satin streamers was carried. There were three bridesmaids, Misses Aubrey and Madge Svenson, sisters of the bride, and Dorothy Curtayne, Auckland, sister of the bridegroom. All wore gold satin frocks, ent on similar lines to that of the bride. The bodices were “off the shoulder,” and the petals at the waistline were lined with green to match the green shoes, and floral muffs composed of pink and gold roses and gold tulle pleating were carried. The Rev. Father Campbell officiated, and Messrs. Laurence Curtayne, Auckland, Neil Svenson, Tauranga, and Frank Hannon, Auckland, attended the bridegroom. After the ceremony a reception was held at the Savage Club hall, where Mrs. Svenson received her guests wearing a gown of brown lace, and threequarter coat and hat to match. She held a posy of rich autumn-tinted rosebuds and fern. Mrs. Curtayne, Auckland, wore a frock of navy georgette* with touches of white, and hat and shoes to tone? Her posy was of deep red rosebuds, carnations and fern. When Mr. and Mrs. A. B. Curtayne left, the latter wore a blue floral frock and turquoise blue tailored coat, and straw hat.
