ADVERTISING NEEDED

Scenic Attractions Of New Zealand

AMERICAN’S OPINION

The most prosperous place in the world to-day Is Johannesburg, according to Mr. 'William J. Dockstader, of New York, who is now halfway through a five-year tour of the world. South Africa, as a whole, is one of the most prosperous countries Mr. Dockstader has visited, and in Johannesberg the demand for gold has pushed the city ahead at an amazing rate. Comparatively modern buildings are being pulled down to make room for larger ones. In Kimberley,' on the other hand, the diamond mines are closed and things are dead. Mr. Dockstader, who is president of a New York shipping firm, spends practically all his time travelling. On his last visit to New York he was in- nis home for six weeks only before starting out on the present tour. During the last two years he has visited Australia (twice), New Zealand (twice) 1 , Africa and Europe. After leaving New Zealand he will visit Australia a third time. Then there will be a return trip to Africa and a stay in South America. It will be three years before he and Mrs. Dockstader again sec New York.

Mr. Dockstader said that in the course of bis travels he met many American tourists and he had yet to hear one say anything but praise of New Zealand. They liked the scenery, the climate and the people. A more extensive advertising campaign in the United States Wbuld bring many more American tourists to New Zealand. Mr. Dockstader considered.

Mrs. Dockstader put in a word. “I would like to say,” she'said, “that New Zealand is about the only country I feel a real regret at leaving. In Aueklong, Wellington and Christchurch I am very happy, and I hate to think 1 have to leave.”
