Mr. C. D. Hudson, of Dunedin, witli his wife and daughter, returned to Wellington yesterday after an extended tour of Great Britain and tlie Continent of Europe.

Senor Alberto L’daondo. consul in New South Wales for tbe Argentine Republic, arrived at Wellington yesterday on a holiday visit to tbe Dominion.

Major and Mrs. Gray hlive been appointed to the command of tlie Salvation Army’s operations in Otago and Southland. Major Gray has been an officer for 30 years and has had considerable experience in Australia and New Zealand, holding important positions In eacli territory for some years past. His last appointment was that of assistant divisional commander of tlie Wellington Division.

Mr. John Farrell is visiting Wellington in connection with the presentation of the J. C. Williamson attraction, “White Horse Inn.” He is accompanied by Mrs. Farrell.
