In the match against Orange Free .State, the Australian cricketers’ first innings was declared closed when four wickets were down for 361. Orange Free Stale on Saturday made 88. McCabe reached hiu century in 105 minutes and O’Brien took 195 minutes. Barnett, after shaping well, pulled a ball on to his wicket. Richardson made merry. Tarrant’s eleven, in their first innings, have lost four wickets for 228 (Bryant 42, Love 33, Morrlsby 30. Ryder 47, Hendry 45 not out). In the Sheffield Shield match against South Australia, who made 94 in their first innings, New South Wales, in their first innings, had made 286 for six wickets at stumps (Fallowfield 53, Robinson 94 not out, Hynes 41). Apart from Robinson the batsmen scored rather slowly. Robinson, however, gave a pleasing display.
