Wellington Ranking Matches (

The Wellington Lawn Tennis Association during the week-end commenced a series of matches to determine the top positions in the men’s ranking. Following are the results: J. Charters defeated N. Smith, 6-4, 6-4; N. Bedford defeated R. Ferkins, 3-6, 8-6, r-u; N. Smith defeated R. Ferkins. 9-7, 6-.>; JCharters defeated N. Bedford, 6r4, 6-4. The undermentioned matches complete the series for the season for men ip group January 26: Charters v. Ferkins, Bedford v. Smith. February 2: Coombe v. Smith, Kouspell v. Ferkins, Coombe v. Ferkins, Roussell v. Smith. A February 9: Coombe v, Bedford, Roussel! v. Charters, Coombe/v. Charters, Roussell v. Bedford. Date to’be arranged: Coombe v. Rottssell. , , , The following matches wnl be played on January 26:—1.30 p.m.: Miss Small v. Miss Douthett, Murray v. Lyons, Edwards v. Scotland, Joblin v, Blythe, Bundle v. Driscoll, Dixon v. Roberts. 3.30 p.m.: Miss Macaasey v. Miss Douthett, Murray v. Pearce, Edwards v. Latham, Joblin v. Pollock, Bundle v. Hiekmott, Dixon v. Driscoll.
