Radio Artists

Sir, —In accordance with the policy of the Broadcasting Board, we frequently hear from the YA stations so-called famous artists, advertised under such headings as “the” Australian soprano, the “brilliant” Australian baritone, the “famous” Australian comedian, etc. While not wishing to discredit any individual artist, I would like to suggest that a large proportion have never been heard of until discovered by the board, and that the title “an” Australian soprano, etc., would be more to the point. Surely it is not necessary to go to Australia to find artists at least as good if not better than those who are now being foisted upon a long-suffering public.—l am, etc., NOT ENTERTAINED.
