Trentham Candidates Gallop Dominion Special Service. Jlawera. January 11. Several candidates for Trentham were galloped at Jlawera this morning, smart efforts being credited to Lowenberg, Knockout, and Seamond. Fast work was done on the trial grass, which was rather holding after heavy rain overnight. Seamonil surprised by finishing on terms with Aga Khan over six furlongs in 1.17 — " useful gallop. It was Seamond's best showing on the tracks since coming to Ila went. She looks an improved mare since Stratford, and should give a good account of herself in the highweights at Trent ham.

Notium was hard held over the concluding stages of three furlongs to finish two lengths in front of Shemseh in 40 3-.". Notium could have improved considerably on this time. He will be ridden in the Wellington Stakes by IL Wiggins. The best gallop of the morning was done by Lowenberg, who shaded Knockout over live furlongs in 1.3 2-5.
