HOMING PIGEONS

Wellington Society’s Rhee

The Wellington Homing Pigeon Society flew a flock race from Pareuga, 505 miles airline. Sixty-one pigeons were conveyed to Parenga by courtesy of the manager and captain of the Northern Shipping Company’s Paroto, from Auckland, anil handed over to Mr. Chapman for liberation. Owing Io adverse weather conditions, Mr. Chapman .very thoughtfully held the birds over for two days, /ind liberated them at 6 a.m. on Saturday in good weather conditions. The race proved a most successful one, the first birds arriving home at 8.33 p.m.. taking just over 14} hours for the 505 miles airline. Following were tlie phicings:—W.
