Hawke’s Bay Arrangements
Dominion Special Service.
Napier, January 13
The Minister of Education and Health, the Hon. P. Fraser, is expected to arrive in Napier on Wednesday morning next, and arrangements are being made for a civil welcome to be extended to him on Wednesday afternoon at 2 o’clock. The schedule of appointments drawn up by Mr. W. E. Barnard, M.P., will provide for deputations on educational matters to wait upon the Minister on ’Wednesday afternoon. Mr. Fraser will also visit Port Ahuriri during the afternoon, where he will-meet members of the Port School Committee and also members of the fishing industry. On Wednesday evening he will attend a Labour function to be held in the Forresters’ Hall, and the following at 9.45 he will receive a deputation from the Hawke’s Bay Hospital Board. Thursday afternoon will be devoted to a visit to Hastings, where the Minister will be approached by the education interests in that district in regard to the establishment of an intermediate school for Hastings. .He will return to Napier and spend the night before leaving for the south on Friday. ,
