THE FIELDS REVIEWED

Final Day at Manawatu ,(By Telegraph.—From “The Watcher.’ 1 ) Palmerston North, December 27. Weather conditions promise to hold for the concluding day of the Manawatu meeting. The following horses may be supported:— Apprentices' Hack: Snowball and Cloudy Bay. Tfritea Highweight: Umpire and Summerhill. Juvenile Handicap: Mala and Dawning Bight. Liverpool Handicap: Werohia ami Speed. Westbury Hack: Erua and Hine JRa. Wood Handicap: After Money and Passion Fruit. Kawau Handicap : Royal Routine and 'Acceptable. Christmas Hack: Silver Jest and Mesurina. TARANAKI PROSPECTS Handy-size Fields Engaged ■ Dominion Special Service. New Plymouth, December 27. The Taranaki Jockey Club will conclude its summer meeting to-morrow, and as excellent acceptances have been received the club is assured of satisfactory results. Soloist disappointed on Thursday, but must be very dangerous in the Tarata Hurdles. Should Grand Score jump better than was the case on Thursday he too .will be in the money. Bouny Glow finished better than any of her opponents on the opening day, so the additional furlong of the Fitzroy Hack should be all in her favour. Now trained by J. Fryer, Seamond is expected to run prominently in this even 1 . Class in the Electric Handicap is very weak, so Kia Ora should give her supporters a good run. Grateful may possibly prove a dangerous runner. As Refresher usually does well as the result of a race lie should be prominent in the Inglewood Handicap. Lady Kyra and Lucidus are also likely to run well. A number of good hacks are down to contest the Atiawa Cup. Tuabeahe impressed on Thursday, but Alchemic is likely to show improved form, and this .will find him handy at the finish. Carfex ran a good race over the mile and a quarter of the Christmas Handicap, and the New Plymouth Handicap, of nine furlongs, might find him running prominently. Musqui] has worked well and she may prove a dangerous competitor. As The Ark won very easily last Thursday, backers should be prepared to accept a short price about him for the Warea Stakes. Wahine Nui looks remarkably well just now, and if fancied for the Summer Hack from the right quarter she may make it interesting for Sir Tommy and Winlona. The card is as follows: —
