Y.M.C.A. ACTIVITIES

Holiday Camp and Tour At the monthly meeting of the board of directors of the Wellington Y.M.C.A. held this week, arrangements were completed for the various holiday attractions. It was reported that 100 boys had registered for the boys’ holiday eamp to be held on the property of Mr. G. Harper, Otaki. The camp this year will be under tho supervision of Mr. 11. J. Steptoe, the association’s boys’ work secretary, and a full programme of organised recreation will be provided during the four weeks’ period of camp. A large permanent hut has been erected on the site, the materials and labour in connection with which have been contributed gratis. In the senior section of the association 44 enrolments have been received for the Christmas-New Year holiday tour to be held in the South Island, commencing December 25. As in previous year, the tour will bo conducted by Mr. L. J. Greenberg, general secretary of the association, and will cover au itinerary of 1000 miles. The points to be included in the itinerary are:— The Hermitage, Waitaki hydro-electric works, Queenstown, Central Otago, Dunedin, Timaru, and Christchurch. Two modern motor-buses are being chartered for the tour, which will last 11 days. The following officers of the Y.M.C.A. were elected for the ensuing year:— President. Mr. R. 11. Niinmo; vice-pre-sidents, Messrs. G. H. Scott and N.'A. Tremewan; chairman, finance and administration, Mr. W. J. Mason; chairman, boys’ work, Mr. G. I. B. Thomas; chairman, bouse committee, Mr. 11. C. South; chairman, religious work, Mr. M. A. Tremewan; chairman, physical training and gymnasium, Dr. A. Gillies; chairman, social work, Mr. J. F. Johnson; chairman, educational work, Mr. W. F. Ponder; honorary recording secretary, Mr. J. F. Johnson; representatives on boy employment committee, Mr. R. H. Nimmo and Mr. L. J. Greenberg; representatives on Christian Youth Council, Mr. J. F. Johnson and Mr. L. J. Greenberg.
